When Jesus was on earth, He or any of his disciples have no record of them ever binding an evil spirit or loosing the Holy Spirit or ministering spirits in any situation. He either rebuked them, silenced them or told them to get out- sometimes all three. That was what we read in the Gospels. Still Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18 clearly tell us that He was giving the keys of the Kingdom to His disciples. “Whatsoever you bind/loose on earth will be bound/loosed in heaven.” There are many studies on this truth but we find ourselves fighting continuously with little battles won. It’s because the enemy had deceived us of the real troublemaker, our unsurrendered soul. He kept us busy fighting him when he was not really the problem. Satan is not the enemy. He is already a defeated foe. So, what makes anything different now?. Simply that we’ve not known how to use the keys of the kingdom to actually step out of our spiritual survival mentalities and unto the ROCK who defeated our enemy over 2000 years ago.
Loosing Attitudes of the Soul Instead of Loosing Spirits.
People wonder how to loose a critical spirit, a controlling spirit, a spirit of anger. Criticalness, control and manipulation as well as anger are attitudes of an unsurrendered soul within an individual, not evil spirits that can be cast out. Casting demons and spirits out of people will never bring permanent relief when an unsurrendered soul is involved. Although deliverance is a spiritual truth, for Jesus delivered many foul spirits, deliverance does nothing to bring an unsurrendered soul to submission. You can’t be delivered from yourself. Evil spirits can and do become involved when a human soul refuses to surrender to God’s will and purposes for it, thereby ensuring open doors of access to wrong spiritual influences. The authority of Jesus Christ, the living Word, can be spoken into action by the Christian believer who rebukes these wrong spiritual influences and hindrances. But such deliverance is a temporary measure with few permanent and lasting effects unless the individual’s unsurrended soul’s power structure is exposed and dismantled.
There is a path to permanent freedom and wholeness that can be taken by all. This path must be taken right through the middle of the stubborn resistance of the unsurrendered soul which consists of a manipulative, controlling, fearful trichotomy of the mind, will and emotions. Now, follow this map, use the keys and take that journey once and for all. The keys of binding and loosing will open every iron gate, stone wall, and stronghold that has sidetracked this journey in your life. Some have had their journey to wholeness, freedom, and spiritual power blocked for so long, they’ve just given up and sat down in the ashes and dirt of their pasts- hoping to hold out until Jesus comes back. You don’t have to hold out any longer- you are poised to move out!
Definitions below————
Binding and Loosing Definitions
The Hebrew and Greek words for “bind” and “binding” mean some very positive things- to knit. fasten, tie, weave together, wind around, and cause to coalesce (grow to one, to blend, to unite into one body) and become one again.
The word “loose” in Greek, lou, along with the companion words, rhegnumi and agnumi, means break up, destroy, dissolve, unloose, melt, put off, wreck, crack to sunder by separation of the parts, shatter into minute fragments, disrupt, lacerate, convulsed with spasms, break forth, burst, rend and tear.
Wow!!! How wimpy we have been, particularly in our use of this loose word. Loose is a powerful word that can wreck spiritual terrorism on evil spirits and perform radical surgery on the unsurrendered soul. It is a word that can blow away every stronghold, vain imagination, and high thing (2 Cor.10:4-5) that tries to exalt between believers and a full knowledge of their loving God and His ways.
