What Spatacus said on creation in Genesis:
From: sputacus To: thewitness Posted: Sat Oct 27, 2007 3:30 am
Greetings GT!!! Sorry for taking so long to respond. My answer is pretty short and simple – I wouldn’t refute them. I wouldn’t even debate them. As I read your email, two passages of Scripture came to mind: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools…” (Romans 1:18-22) The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1) In other words, if one fails to see God through the things He has created – things that are clearly seen, I seriously doubt he would be convinced in a debate. Moreover, my own acceptance of the Biblical account of creation was not based on some well thought out argument or presentation of facts that convinced me that it was true. And I too fail to recognize God in all He has made. It was only after the Holy Spirit bore witness with my spirit that I am a child of God that I was able to accept the Biblical account of creation without question. It is my view that it would take nothing less than that same witness of the Holy Spirit to convince the atheist or the evolutionist that the biblical account of creation is true.
